ABOUT THE MEDICAL CANNABIS CAREGIVER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

January 2007, the MCCDirectory.org began the development of a Medical Cannabis Caregiver Training and Certification Program that would meet the California State University guidelines for offering the MCC Certification through CSU's Extended and Continuing Education Program.

To oversee the development of the Certification Program, a Board was established. Members of the MCC Training and Certification Board have gained recognition as professionals and experts in the medical Cannabis industry.

The Board recommends and approves the curriculum required for Certification and continuously reviews the training classes to ensure that it teaches the knowledge and skills required by the industry.

The training evaluation form, completed by class participants, serves as a vital part of the ongoing development of the MCC Certification Program.

A transcript, of classes completed by the participant, is maintained by MCCDirectory.org and available to the participant upon request.

PLEASE NOTE:

The CLEAN GREEN Certification Program, now available to medical Cannabis Growers and Distributors, is a separate Certification Program.

TRAINING ASSOCIATES

Bruce Margolin, Attorney

With over 40 years of practice as a criminal attorney, working to reform marijuana laws, Bruce Margolin, author of “The Margolin Guide to California and Federal Marijuana Laws”, needs no introduction. Bruce discusses the laws regarding possession, cultivation, sales, and transportation under California’s medical marijuana Program.

He served as CFO, Program Director and member of the LACRC Board of Directors. The Center operated successfully from 1996 to 2001, when it was raided by the DEA. The LACRC owned building was the first building forfeited to the government as a result of a DEA medical marijuana raid. In 2002 he helped launch and develop Medical Marijuana ProCon.org.

He received the American for Safe Access Jane Weirick Activist of the Decade Award in 2007. He has served as a member of the LA County Medical Marijuana Task Force and has provided testimony to the California State Senate Health Committee regarding SB 420, the Medical Marijuana Task Force Bill. Liz McDuffie, MCC Training Program Coordinator

Liz received medical cannabis training at Malaspina University in Duncan, BC under Eric Nash and Wendy Little, owners of Island Harvest, Canada’s first “certified” organic medical cannabis growers.
Her studies included Health Canada’s medical marijuana access program and on-site assessments of operational standards and procedures used in Compassionate Use Clubs in both Canada and California. Over the past six years she has provided training and consulting services to growers and patients' groups throughout California. She is a post graduate student in Public Administration at the University of Southern California and owner of RitzResale, a Pasadena based women’s resale clothing store.
